While there she became certified in group exercise and taught at three different local gyms. Inspired by the positive experience with fitness in Jamaica, she came home to Chicago to pursue her master's degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. Aimee's early Chicago experiences included teaching at various clubs such as Gold Coast Multiplex, Sweat Shop, Union Station Multiplex and several others. Her classes included spin, step, interval and strength training classes. She served as a fitness consultant for the University of Chicago's Executive Health Program and also helped to teach personal training workshops at UIC. She has returned to Jamaica several times to conduct fitness workshops for JAMFIT, the Jamaican Fitness Association. Almost 20 years ago Aimee founded Embody Fitness and found her niche in Personal Training/Fitness Consulting. She has a broad based clientele of all ages and abilities, but her specialities include pre/post natal, post- rehab, sport-specific and functional exercise. Embody Fitness operates on the philosophy that consistency is an integral part of achieving personal health and overall strength. Aimee is here to help you incorporate fitness and strength training into your personal life and find a way to make it consistent. She meets people where they are at, with no pressure or judgments and helps them move forward.
